Àíàëèç ïîêàçàë, ÷òî âëàäåëüöû äîìàøíèõ æèâîòíûõ äåìîíñòðèðóþò áîëåå óñòîé÷èâûå êîãíèòèâíûå ôóíêöèè ïî ñðàâíåíèþ ñ òåìè, êòî íå äåðæèò ïèòîìöåâ. Îñîáåííî âûðàæåí ýôôåêò îêàçàëñÿ ó âëàäåëüöåâ êîøåê è ñîáàê.
